Dobbs Ferry is overflowing with fantastic restaurants and eateries. It's one of our family's favorite places to dine out. For those who live in and around Dobbs Ferry, one of the best-kept secrets - known for the freshest, most delicious sushi, and Japanese food on the East Coast - is Sushi Mike's. This eatery provides an ever-changing menu of traditional Japanese seafood options and promises a top-tier customer experience. When you walk in, oftentimes, you're greeted by the owner, himself, Sushi Mike. One of the friendliest, most bubbly restauranteurs we have met. Whether you are in the mood for fresh Kumamoto oysters, crunchy and steaming hot tempura, or a simple spicy tuna roll, you will never be disappointed at Sushi Mike’s. The hot green tea is a fan favorite, and we never miss the fresh-made miso soup or gyoza for an appetizer. The chicken teriyaki is perfectly seasoned and slightly charred on the outside. My favorite is the unagi donburi, a traditional Japanese dish consisting of a bed of rice covered with crispy grilled pieces of fresh eel, something that Sushi Mike’s has done flawlessly - finished with a sweet, slightly salty soy glaze. The sushi is one-of-a-kind, and we love to order the daily special - consisting of different pieces of fresh sushi and sashimi that they have in-house (which changes every time we go)! The scallop (hotate), tuna belly (toro), and uni (sea urchin roe) are my all-time favorites, but Sushi Mike’s offers something that every person at the table will enjoy indefinitely! Located conveniently in downtown Dobbs Ferry, it is a short ride from other parts of Westchester County and Connecticut. I promise, if you are craving sushi that has fallen short elsewhere, get into your car and drive to Sushi Mike’s right now!
