Stamford Diner

Stamford Diner

While the Tri-State area is known for being the birthplace of many things in the “American” culinary world like pizza, hot-dogs/hamburgers, and the classic Jewish Deli, one of the most famous has to be the diner. The classic American diner is known for providing staple dishes like sandwiches, breakfast plates, and so much more. While Stamford and the rest of Fairfield County are home to many other amazing diner’s, one of our favorites for the past few years has definitely been Stamford Diner. Located on Stamford’s West Side right off of Exit 6 on I-95, Stamford Diner has always been our go to place any time of the day. When you walk in, the aesthetic brings you back to a nostalgic 50’s diner, with retro art-deco design and booths. Not only is the restaurant a very decent size, but also houses a fully stocked bar with rows of stools to match the theme as well. We always love to sit in the booth, and although we do change up our orders every once and a while, we love to stick with our favorites. Depending on if you are someone who can eat breakfast anytime of the day (like myself), or are in the mood for something like a souvlaki wrap with fries, Stamford Diner has almost everything and anything you are craving. As for myself, I either get one of two things: the first being two eggs over-easy, home fries, sausage and rye toast (if I’m more in the mood for breakfast), or a chicken salad wrap with lettuce, tomatoes and onions, and served with fries, a creamy coleslaw, and a half-sour pickle. Stamford Diner also has amazing omelettes (we love the Greek omelette and the farmer’s omelette), and the pancakes and french toast are to die for (especially the oreo pancakes which are indulgently filled with oreo pieces and a not too sweet whipped cream, and the cannoli french toast is one of my favorite things in the world). The menu is stocked with an abundance of options, and the service is always quick and as friendly as can be. While the food at Stamford Diner leaves me dreaming for more, the restaurant is also an up and coming place to go out in Stamford. The diner features local bands, and also has things such as comedy nights with local Stamford comedians. Whether it was a lazy afternoon like when we went most recently, or a morning after a late night out, Stamford Diner has cemented itself as being one our favorite places to eat in Stamford (which is a feat in its own right!).
